Register participant Register researchTHE FUTURE OF COAL BAGANUUR 2023" will be hosted by Baganuur Joint Stock Company, on August 24-25, 2023. Conference participants also have the opportunity to join an extension field trip to Baganuur (August 25, 2023).
“Baganuur” JSC has been operating for 45 years since establishment in 1978, to supply coal to thermal power plants of Central power system. The company, has solely been providing 60 percent of total domestic demand and the company also supplies coal with fraction of 0-200 mm to consumers, as well as supplying to thermal power plants. The company’s annual production capacity is 4.0 million tons, however depending on the demands of local customers, the company produces 3.8-4.5 million tons of coal, strips 16.0-18.0 million cubic meters of soil and produces coal using combination of exploitation systems with or without auto transportation. The Baganuur brown coal deposit is located in Kherlen river basin in Tavansuvai valley, 130 km north east of Ulaanbaatar. Mine site is connected to Maanit station by 80 km railway, and a paved road from Ulaanbaatar to Dornod passes through the mine. Administratively, the mine locates in Baganuur Disctrict of Ulaanbaatar city.
We invite you to submit your abstract for an oral and poster presentation; English will be the official language of this conference. Abstracts should be less than 500 words and submitted, as an attachment in Microsoft Word Doc(x) format, via email to baganuur2023@baganuurmine.mn not later than July 20, 2023.
Acceptance of abstracts will be based on a decision by the THE FUTURE OF COAL BAGANUUR 2023 Scientific Committee. Once so notified and scheduled, the author of an accepted abstract is required to give a presentation at the Conference.

Submission of a full paper is mandatory for those who would like their presentation selected for the publication.
The conference venue is the Bagnuur Joint Stock Company Building. Guests staying at the hotel will receive discounted rates.
